Expect the Unexpected
"According to CBS News’ MoneyWatch, a Bankrate survey in 2017 stated that a $500 surprise expense would put 57 percent of Americans in debt.
“It’s not a matter of if, but when an unexpected expense will pop up,” Jill Cornfield, a Bankrate analyst, said in a statement to MoneyWatch.
Most Americans said they have enough savings to cover the expense, while others said they’d put it on a credit card, cut back on everyday expenses, or ask family or friends for money. How would your HOA community handle a surprise expenditure?"
Keep it Current
"Individuals have all kinds of insurance: health, homeowners or renters, car, life, disability, the list goes on. All of these policies are put in place to provide protection and help offset costs in the event of an emergency. The HOA should have the same type of protections. That means having adequate insurance coverage to handle whatever comes along – and keeping it up to date."
If You Give a Website a Cookie...
"The royal wedding isn't the only thing making waves from across the pond. Effective May 25, 2018, a new regulation (the General Data Protection Regulation) has gone into effect for all websites that serve the European Union, and how information is gathered, stored, and used by anyone conducting business in the EU."
No Running, No Diving...No Sweating?
"The climate in many northern states offers limited access to outdoor pool facilities, generally from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Many elements such as weather, temperature, rain, sunshine, oils, lotions, sweat, etc., have an influence on water clarity and purity. It is important that regular inspections of the water and mechanical equipment be performed and recorded on a log in compliance with local or state requirements."
Rain, Rain, Go Away
"Summer is right around the corner and with it comes the dreaded hurricane season. Floridians know that hurricanes bring significant damage not only to properties but to landscapes as well. Therefore, it is important to be prepared for these storms by sheltering your home and making sure you have stocked up on food, water and other essentials."
