Pokémon Craze

If you’ve not heard about the new Pokémon Go game that seems to be all the rage, then you are clearly living under the largest rock known to man. I have nearly trampled over approximately 20 preteens who weren’t paying a bit of attention to where they are walking whilst on my evening run. But what does this new virtual reality game mean to your community association? Find out here!

Catch Up on Summer Reading

Where do you go for industry news? If you said the CAM Mashup, flattery will get you everywhere! But where else can you find great info for CAM professionals? We've compiled a handy-dandy list of 10 of the top CAM industry insiders you should be reading. Check it out!

Turn Your Meeting Into a Celebration

Instead of hosting your normal hum drum annual HOA meeting, try turning it into one big celebration!  “The annual meeting should be a chance to celebrate successes, hand out recognitions, join members in a common cause and become better acquainted with each other. Use this venue to launch new initiatives or announce good news like awards.”

Do HOAs Really Increase Property Values?

I have heard this question asked a million times, but really haven’t seen any solid evidence that strongly backs either side. Until now. Science actually does prove that “a home in a community association sells between 5% and 6% higher than an equivalent home in an equivalent non-HOA neighborhood.” Just thought you should know!

Bambi and Your HOA

One of my more vivid early memories as a young kid is standing in my uncle’s backyard in the mountains of WV feeding the wild deer that would stroll through. Looking back on this, I question if we weren’t actually doing the poor deer a disservice. Here you can find all reasons you SHOULDN’T be feeding the deer in your community for the well-being of the deer and the safety of your community.

Force Majeure

It's a standard in every contract you make with your community vendors - the dreaded 'Act of God'. It makes sure the vendor isn't held acountable if their work is prevented by a force of nature. But let's say it happens to you. What can you do to insure your community is protected?

Google+ Hangout

“Anyone that has ever lived in a HOA or Condo Association community knows that the feeling of being persuaded by a neighbor to volunteer for the board of directors for their community. Most people are scared to death to add any additional responsibility or obligation to their already jam packed schedule. They are worried about attending long meetings usually in the evening after an already exhausting workday. Google+ Hangout video conferencing tool may just make attending those long meetings a little bit easier.”

Call for Speakers

Every CAM professional has 'that' story. The one that's so outrageous, inspiring or unusual that you share it around the 'campfire' when you get together with other CAM professionals. Have you ever thought of sharing your story to a larger audience? The 2017 CAMfire Conference is looking for speakers.
