HOA Volunteerism

"The idea of a tightly knit community has become unfortunately alien to your average homeowner to the point where many do not even know how to approach being part of an HOA or understand what volunteering would consist of. This means that if you want to build your board, committees, and volunteer teams, you need more than a regular blurb in the newsletter. You need real outreach and community building practices in order to show your members what it means to share and get a chance to explain what HOA volunteers do." Here are some great ways in which to accomplish that!

Knowledge is Power

"Have you received phone calls to your office from residents constantly asking about the community’s guest policies?  Or, how to obtain another parking sticker?  Reading long, traditional documents may be too difficult or time-consuming compared to the ease of calling the management company.  What if you were to gather all the questions and add answers to an easily searchable database?  This  searchable database is called a knowledge base.  If well maintained, it can serve as a powerful search engine or FAQs for your community."

Bye Bye Bye (to Paper)

The average enterprise receives 56% of its invoices in a manual format including paper, PDF, email, or fax. Receiving invoices via PDF or email is no better than receiving paper, unless a data capture solution is in place to automatically identify, extract, and convert the data into a digital format. Otherwise, the information must be manually entered, which is highly inefficient. Automation can have a truly transformative effect on the AP process by removing paper and the manual tasks associated with it. Learn the 5 secrets to achieve paperless payables here.

How to Avoid HOA Fines

Here's one to share with your homeowners: "It’s sweet, sweet summertime. That means you're headed out for a much-needed family vacation. Maybe you’re off to the beach or an amusement park, but wherever you go, the last thing you want to see when you come home is an HOA fine. Here’s how to avoid them while you’re soaking up the sun"

Green Roof

"Co-op and condo boards in New York City are always on the lookout for amenities that boost the value – and livability – of their buildings. In the bargain, many are looking to make their buildings more eco-friendly and economical. For these reasons, green roofs are catching on. But do the benefits merit the cost? And what are the drawbacks?"
