But that's not all they expect. They expect a certain level of security--and so do you. Cybersecurity is the other side of the technology coin. With the mass embrace of new tech came a mass onslaught of people ready and able to exploit it for their own desires. With TOPS products, your data is always secure, but it doesn't hurt to have multiple levels of security on your own end as well. Kind of like locking the door to your garage, even though the garage door is already closed.
And Talking Turkey
It's not Thanksgiving, but it's always a good time to talk about your community financials and all the 'turkey' you're responsible for.
When it comes to community money, reserves are your bread and butter (we're apparently building a turkey sandwich here, today, stay tuned folks). Reserve funds are what keep communities from having to change monthly dues for homeowners on a monthly basis. Whether it's padding for routine, expected maintenance, budgeting for weather-related emergencies, or factoring in how those reserves play with future needs, monetary awareness is a huge part of CAM life. But, as they say, make plans and the universe laughs (or something like that), and sometimes the best laid plans still end in special assessments. If and when that happens, it's important to be prepared to 'sell' the bad news to your homeowners, and be ready to handle their backlash.
