CAM Mash Up: This Week (April 22 - 28)

Posted by Meigan Montoya on April 22, 2019

Here's a quick rundown of all of the happenings in the CAM industry in this week's CAM Mashup!

What's Good for the Goose...

The talk of the town recently has been addressing those seemingly-sweet deals when it comes to association fees. Obviously homeowners want the lowest fees possible, but they don't always realize that those low fees mean less frequent maintenance, if any, fewer amenities, and more room for overall failure of community health. It's important to remember that while you want to appeal to new homeowners, reducing costs of your association comes with a steeper price than what they would be covering, and can lead to serious financial pain in the long run.

Time is Money (And Money is Pizza!)

Arguably one of my favorite phrases, it's a fun way to remember what your money actually does for you, and why 'time is money' is more than just a quip to throw out when things take up your valuable time. Especially in community association management, time (spent on violation management, bylaw enforcement, etc) IS money. Alton Voss, an SDR here at TOPS, has a great story about this very topic
