There is no denying that times are still tough and some areas in the U.S. are taking a much harder hit than others. This next story is about a man in Michigan that tried for 4 months to sell his three bedroom home for $3,000 with no luck. Until he decided he would consider settling for this very unique trade.
Property Tax by State
“New Jersey once again topped the nation with the priciest median real estate tax bill at $7,331, according to the newly released 2013 American Community Survey. On the other hand, Alabama has the lowest in the nation at $532." Where does your state rank?
Does your community have a written delinquency policy? If not, listen up! “First, every community needs to have a written delinquency policy, of which charging late fees is a part. And, second, the policy should be reviewed by the community’s attorney to make sure it is reasonable, legal and complies with state law.” (Don't have one? "Ben Bernanke, the former chairman of the Federal Reserve, got $250,000 just for giving a 40-minute speech in March 2014." During this speech he admitted to the fact that he had just recently unsuccessfully refinanced his home! Seriously? Is there any hope for the rest of us?
“If you want to be more productive at work, try investing in a plant for your desk or office. Researchers in the United Kingdom recently found that employees are 15 percent more productive, not to mention happier, when working in an office surrounded by greenery.” This is now on my to-do list!
