Let’s Get Sticky!

Imagine if there were a shortcut that could make your community associations understand what you do and appreciate you for it, even so far as to stay with your management company for years to come. Intrigued? Read on here to learn the one easy secret to making your management company more sticky!

Checking References

Many Boards require that their manager check the references of all new vendors prior to bringing them on board. If you hate being put in this position, you're in luck. Here is a checklist of sample questions to ask when checking references.

Rents Soar Before RNC

If you're in Cleveland, you might want to temporarily re-think your position on the short term rentals debate. As Cleveland prepares for the arrival of the Republican National Convention in the summer of 2016, nearly every hotel in the city has already been booked. Private homes and condos are now renting for $6,000 to $10,000 per week! Wowza!

Fast Marketing Ideas

PayLease hosted a webinar with award-winning multifamily educator, Lisa Trosien, that showcases quick marketing ideas to help market rental properties. This was a fast-paced, super engaging webinar with a TON of great ideas! The webinar is targetted for marketing rentals, but it's about a lot more than just staging - it also covers signage, plantings, curb appeal, resident activities, maintenance and so much more. After watching this webinar, not only will you get a ton of ideas to improve the communities you manage for cheap, if you're like me you'll also get a bunch of great ideas for your own home!

Collections Policies

“Every association should have a collections policy which outlines the steps that will be taken when an owner is delinquent. It’s critical that the policy is followed each time an owner is delinquent, and that the same steps are used with each owner.” Find out here everything the policy should include! (Plus a sample you can customize yourself)

Video Taping Meetings

Do your boards video tape board meetings? “In some states, such as Florida, it is legal for residents to film community association meetings. While there are many benefits to this, there are also some disadvantages as well. Consider the pros and cons of having your association meetings recorded and create regulations to help prevent misuse of recordings.”

Pool Maintenance

Warm weather is right around the corner. Are your pools ready for inspection? Get a head start now to make sure you pass with flying colors with the help of these pool maintenance tips! After all, “you don’t want to wait to be the last pool on the list to be checked before Memorial Day and get shut down.”
