As the second largest city in the United States, Los Angeles is seriously lacking in the condo department. The city is bursting at the seams with new restaurants and attractions yet, no place for new residents to live. “The shortage is driving prices higher and turning home shopping into a maddening experience. The median list price for resale condos reached $622,100 in May 2014 — compared with $369,000 in 2010, according to Redfin.”
We’re not talking about buffalo wings and calamari here! We are talking about the hottest apps that can help you become a more efficient property manager! Which apps from this list are you currently taking advantage of?
Property Management in the medieval times
Ever wonder when the concept of property management was first established? “According to an article written by Dr. Al-Hammad there was a system per-se dating back to the Roman days and throughout the Feudal periods (Medieval Legal System).” There is a ton of history in this industry!
I am still on the fence on how I feel about the new Google Glass concept. While it is a brilliant idea, I gotta say it kinda creeps me out that someone can take photos and videos of another person without them ever knowing! With that said, as these glasses become more mainstream should they be permitted in your associations common areas?
The Future is here
Imagine the day when homes are printed rather than built. It seems that day has actually already arrived! An inventor has created a 3D concrete printer to construct his future (2-story, actual sized) home. Watch the video where he creates a window sill here! Pretty spectacular stuff. Of course, this begs the question, how will such structures be regulated? Might we see entire community associations popping up (literally!) in the future?
Get in while you Still Can!
